 George Katodrytis, B.A.(Hons), A.A. Dip., R.I.B.A. Associate Professor of Architecture at the American University of Sharjah, UAE.
George Katodrytis is an Architect involved in practice, teaching and research. He is currently Associate Professor of Architecture at the American University of Sharjah, UAE. He studied architecture at the University of Manchester and the Architectural Association, London. He worked in Paris and in London. He has taught at the Architectural Association (1987-1994). He has been a visiting professor at various schools in the UK and US, and at the Academy of Architecture in Moscow. In 1994, he established “George Katodrytis Architects” and has designed and built a number of projects in Europe and USA. He has lectured, made presentations and exhibited in the UK, USA, Russia, Estonia, Finland, Holland, Czech Republic, Thailand, Turkey, Kuwait, Australia, Greece, Japan, Cyprus, Belgium, Italy, Iran and the UAE. His current work addresses issues of contemporary architecture, urbanism and cultural theory, with a focus on experimentation and writings on contemporary design methods and the “city,” especially as it is evolving in the 21st century. He has adopted digital technology as a tool for establishing new formal languages.
 Riad Saraiji Associate Professor of Architectural Engineering at UAE University, El Ain, UAE.
Dr. Saraiji has over 15 years of experience in Illumination system design and engineering. He has conducted projects for leading international organizations such as Carrier Corporation, NASA, US National Science Foundation, US National Institute of Standards and Technology, Osram Sylvania, and others. He has ten publications and holds two US Patents. Mr. Saraiji has a PhD in Architectural Engineering (Illumination Engineering emphasis) from the Pennsylvania State University (USA). He was the first to install a Solid State based lighting system (LED) in a Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC. Dr. Saraiji was president of Illumitech, LLC, in Vienna, Virginia from 1997-2005 and is currently Associate Professor of Architectural Engineering, United Arab Emirates University
 Ziad Fattouh Senior Principle, Delta Lighting Solutions, Dubai, UAE
Ziad Fattouh is a founding partner and a “Senior Principal” of the lighting design firm Delta Lighting Solutions. Since founding the Dubai design office in 2001 he has been involved in the design of a wide spectrum of projects regionally and internationally including many 5 star hotels and resorts, residential and office towers, shopping malls, external façade lighting projects and area master plans. Ziad Fattouh is also a director and member of the Architects Association UAE, which is an association founded to promote architecture and design in the region.

Experiences include work with the artist Robert Rauschenberg on two projects in the early 1980’s, residential, commercial and hospitality projects in Massachusetts and Arizona and hotel projects for St. Tropez, Mallorca and Turkey. From 1993 to 2002 with RKW Rhode Kellermann Wawrowsky + Partner architects in Germany, one of Europe’s largest architectural firms. From 2004 to 2007, Managing Associate and Senior Project Designer with the Dubai office of HBA Hirsch Bedner Associates, one of the world’s leading interior design firms specialized in hotel and hospitality design. Currently Director of Development – Spas and Interiors with Jumeirah Group.
